Don’t Let Your Hair Care be Hairy

To begin, yes I’m fully aware I have no room to talk when it comes to hair health. HOWEVER, I’m going to share with you guys all of the things I’ve learned about healthy, happy hair whilst damaging my own these past few years! (because I suck at consistency)


🧼Washing🧼

•You should only wash your hair with shampoo 1-3 times a week - not daily

•You can actually wash with conditioner daily if you feel the need to

•Shampoo is what ruins your hair, not conditioner, as it strips away all of the nutrients and natural oils while “cleaning” it

•Deep conditioning/hot oil treatments are so good to use once a week

•Let your conditioner soak in while you wash, shave, etc., - never your shampoo


🔥Drying🔥

•Don’t rub a towel roughly through your hair to dry it

•Always use oils when blow drying and make sure it’s on the lowest setting

•Air drying is the best (and least wasteful)

•If you shower at night, don’t put your hair up wet to sleep in


🎀Styling🎀

•Combs may suck for thick hair (trust me, I know) but they’re best for your hair

•Apply oil before straightening or curling your hair - always put on the lowest/medium setting

•Avoid rubber hair ties (or hair ties all together) when putting your hair up, switch them out for clips and pins
